UNIT 02
Single-phase & Three-phase AC-DC Converters
Single-phase half-wave controlled rectifiers with R and RL loads, with and without freewheeling diode; Single-phase fully controlled mid-point and bridge converters (R, RL, RLE); continuous/discontinuous conduction; effect of source inductance; semi-converter; dual converter; Three-phase half-wave, fully controlled and semi converters with R and RL loads; output voltage expressions; Numerical problems
UNIT 03
AC-AC Converters
Single-phase AC-AC power control by phase control with R and RL loads; Expression for rms output voltage; Single-phase step-down and step-up cycloconverters; Numerical problems
UNIT 04
DC-DC Converters
Operation of basic chopper; analysis of buck, boost and buck-boost converters in CCM and DCM; Output voltage equations using volt-sec balance in CCM and DCM; Output voltage ripple and inductor current ripple; control techniques; introduction to PWM control; Numerical problems
UNIT 05
DC-AC Converters
